HowTo..Wire a Serial Cable for Voice Messenger Remote screen

The cable configuration is a very standard serial connection. (It is NOT a modem cable, indeed a modem-eliminator cable is likely to work)

The serial connectors vary from machine to machine so use the appropriate plug (25/9 pin Male /Female) for your specific equipment.

When a Remote Display is used with Voice Messenger it is usually configured to use Com2 on the PC, and the display is connected through a connector labelled Serial 1 (or similar).

In the following diagrams the cables are only joined at the dots.
